In two seasons as head coach of the Miami Dolphins, Mike McDaniel has transformed the long-suffering franchise into one that boasts perhaps the NFL’s most explosive offense.
He has been hailed as an offensive genius who has helped quarterback Tua Tagovailoa develop into a Pro Bowler.
These days, McDaniel has a new hairdo, and a photo of it has gone viral on social media, per Bussin’ With the Boys.

McDaniel started his NFL journey in 2005 as an intern with the Denver Broncos under head coach Mike Shanahan, and a year later followed Gary Kubiak to the Houston Texans when Kubiak became their head coach.
It was in Houston that McDaniel joined forces with Kyle Shanahan, who started out as a wide receivers coach the year McDaniel was hired as an offensive assistant.
In 2011, McDaniel moved on to the Washington Redskins, where he again worked with the younger Shanahan, and in 2017, the two were reunited when McDaniel was hired to be the San Francisco 49ers’ run game coordinator.
After serving as the Niners’ offensive coordinator in 2021, he was hired by the Dolphins, and he has gotten them to the playoffs in both of his seasons as head coach.
While Miami has critics in the national media, the Dolphins do have tons of offensive firepower, and if they figure out how to be a competent defensive team, they could end up winning a playoff game for the first time since the 2000 season.
