“Journalists would always say, ‘After Titanic, you could have done anything and yet you chose to do these small things,'” Kate remembered in an interview with Net-a-Porter published earlier this year, “and I was like, ‘Yeah, you bet your f—king life I did! Because, guess what, being famous was horrible.'”
She continued, “I was grateful, of course. I was in my early twenties and I was able to get a flat. But I didn’t want to be followed literally feeding the ducks.”
And yet, she wouldn’t have it any other way. After all, as seen in Bear’s recent intro to the film, it’s impact is timeless.
“It’s amazing and incredible to have been part of something that, you know, is so steeped in nostalgia for people and still resonates with people in the way that it does,” the actress said on Good Morning America in 2022. “It’s a huge, huge honor that people still love something that I was a part of all those years ago. It’s just magical.”
And Titanic isn’t the only iconic film of which Kate has been a part. Keep reading for some of her biggest roles.
