The Los Angeles Chargers are preparing for a road matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3.
However, the Chargers are dealing with a notable injury trying for a third straight win.
According to head coach Jim Harbaugh, Pro Bowl signal-caller Justin Herbert has an ankle injury and his status for the game is unknown.
“Crystal ball? Expect him to get better every day. I was in a meeting with him. Said he was feeling much better and good today,” Harbaugh said, via NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

As the Chargers prepare to face an elite Steelers defense, they are going to need their best and most important player available. That would be Herbert, who did not take part in practice.
Based on Harbaugh’s quote, the three-time 4,000-yard passer seems likely to play but might not be at 100 percent.
But if No. 10 is suiting up, the Chargers have a chance.
He has helped the team to a 2-0 start by completing more than 65 percent of his passes and posting a rating of over 92.0 in both wins.
It also helps to have a running back like J.K. Dobbins who is off to a great start in his bounce-back season.
He has rushed for more than 130 yards with a touchdown in each of the victories.
With a talented defense as well, the Chargers can win a lot of games this season.
But a lot of that has to do with their star QB being completely healthy, which he was not last season.
As good as the rest of the Chargers might be, trying to win without Herbert would be a tall task.
