The New York Giants had a brutal Week 1 showing against the Minnesota Vikings, losing 28-6 at home while donning their throwback jerseys and creating a ton of questions about what this season might look like if the offense is as bad as advertised.
The focus now shifts toward a Week 2 matchup on the road against the Washington Commanders, but four Giants players missed practice and face an uphill battle to suit up and face the NFC East rival.
Punt returner Gunner Olszewski (groin), linebacker Darius Muasau (knee), wide receiver Darius Slayton (concussion) and cornerback Nick McCloud (knee) did not participate, according to beat reporter Art Stapleton.

Linebacker Micah McFadden did practice and appeared to be moving well, according to Stapleton.
None of these players are foundational guys for the Giants, except for McFadden and now Muasau, who has earned a starting inside linebacker job despite being a rookie sixth-round pick. But for a team on the ropes this early in the season, the Giants need all the help they can get and cannot afford injuries to start stockpiling.
Slayton had three catches for 26 yards in Week 1, and Muasau had six tackles and an interception in his first NFL game.
It was a disappointing performance on both sides of the ball, which raised a lot of question marks, mostly centered around quarterback Daniel Jones and the offense.
The Giants will look to avoid dropping to 0-2, and fans should keep an eye on the injury report to see if any of these players will be available.
